Esophageal String Test (EST)
We’re excited to offer the Esophageal String Test (EST) - a cutting-edge, non-invasive diagnostic tool designed to help patients with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) manage their condition more comfortably and effectively. Traditionally, EoE monitoring requires multiple upper endoscopies (EGDs), which can be invasive, costly, and require sedation. The EST provides a much less invasive alternative, using a simple capsule attached to a thin string that collects samples from the esophagus as it passes through. This allows us to measure inflammation and detect eosinophil activity without the need for a scope.
Why Choose the EST?
Non-Invasive Comfort: No sedation or recovery time needed.
Precise Monitoring: Detects inflammation levels to assess disease activity.
Personalized Treatment Insights: Helps determine how well medications or dietary changes work.
Greater Convenience: Reduces the frequency of traditional EGDs.
The EST is especially valuable for patients who require frequent monitoring but want to avoid the discomfort and disruption of repeated procedures. It enables us to deliver ongoing, personalized care with minimal impact on your daily life.
